The National Association for Patient Participation

The National Association for Patient Participation was formed in 1978.  It is a UK-wide independent charity and the umbrella organisation for patient groups based in primary care: it is not limited to any specific disease or condition.  

Throughout its history, N.A.P.P. has been run by lay people in the interests of patients and has also enjoyed the support of professionals who have pioneered patient participation within their own organisations.
