Central and Eastern Cheshire PCT

Step 1:  The PCT already has a network of PPG chairs in place who meet regularly to discuss issues of common interest.

Step 2: The PCT already had a very good knowledge of the PPGs locally and so there was no need to undertake a specific mapping exercise.

Step 3: NAPP attended the networking meeting that took place in March 2009.  This was extremely helpful to NAPP in refining some of the resources that are being developed.  

Step 4: The networking meeting recommended further steps such as developing a local directory of PPGs, communicating with all practice managers, and encouraging PPGs to review their objectives annually.

Step 5: The resources that were prepared as part of the Growing Patient Participation Campaign have been widely circulated, especially the Step by Step guide to Getting Started.
