Shropshire County PCT

Step 1: The set-up meeting in November 2008 was followed up with a second meeting in January 2009.  This established priorities of engaging with practices to see PPGs as part of improving quality, to network existing Groups and to come up with new models of engagement in commissioning.

Step 2: 14 of the 44 practices had a PPG at the start of 2009 and the Primary Care Trust (PCT) has written to the others to offer their support in getting groups started.

Step 3: An extremely successful networking event for PPGs took place on the evening of 25th March 2009 with a series of very brief presentations and even an opportunity for speed dating.

Step 4: A steering group is leading the work within Shropshire.

Step 5: The campaign resources have been widely shared.
